In August 2005, the impressarios and the necessarios conspired to give Dave Fertig - about to escape to France - an Elmtree Blues Society surprise send off.

Aided and abetted by Dave's Dad, Ralph (who lured Dave to his home by telling him that there was going to be a reading of his - Ralph's - about to be produced play), the Elmtree boys and girls surprised Dave by a full jam set up in the backyard attended by the usual suspects.
